    Description

    Dozens sold in 2019/2020.
This is a repair kit with upgrade features for use with Shopsmith Bandsaw, all models.
Patent pending. Not developed by Shopsmith.
Shopsmith 11" Bandsaw is an attachment to the Mark V tablesaw (models 500, 510, 520).
This kit is superior to the factory "Back Up Roller Retro-fit kit," part number 555074.
    1. Double-bearing instead of single bearing-- promotes longer life and wider blade contact.
    2. Special formulated polymer sleeves between bearings and shaft-- reduces vibrations and eliminates gap between bolt shaft and bearings.
    3. All hardwares are stainless steel--prevents rusting (except bearings).
    4. Low cost--affordable to users.
The kit consists of 3 packages, marked as #1, #2, #3. See 1st photo.
#1. For Auto-track Blade Guide. Located at the upper left side of bandsaw.
#2. For Upper Blade Guide. Located at the upper right side, above table. The loose washer is a spacer for the bearing pair and the bracket.
#3. For Lower Blade Guide. Located at the lower right side, below table. The loose washer is a spacer for the bearing pair and the bracket.
Special tools required: A Dremel type tool with cutter attachment. Refer to 4th photo.
Before installation, a grove needs to be cut on the guide block bracket (#69 of Upper Blade Guide); and also on the guide block bracket (#89 of Lower Blade Guide). Refer to 2nd photo. The groves are shown with arrows. About 1/16" deep and 3/8" long.  These groves will allow the bearings to slide in and out freely.
After the above step, install the components as in 3rd photo.
You are ready to install these blade guides to the bandsaw.
