  • Condition: Brass bridle is well adjusted but one portion of the bridle is not present, condition is excellent vintage as clearly shown in my pictures. Firmly attached locking pin mechanism is good. Condition is great, bakelite is tested. It is beautiful.

    BAKELITE Carved HORSE Head Pin Glass Eye BOOK PIECE Deeply  Carved Vintage EVC
    Up for auction is a gorgeous, collector's favorite, vintage Bakelite HORSE head brooch. This pin is larger than pins of this kind, measures 3" diagonally from the tip of the nostril to the edge of the neck. The color is warm root beer - reddish brown, his eye is a clear glass bead with black enamel center. It is resin washed, with deeply carved  features and mane.
    Brass bridle is well adjusted but one portion of the bridle is not present, condition is excellent vintage as clearly shown in my pictures. Firmly attached locking pin mechanism is good.
    Condition is great, bakelite is tested. It is beautiful.
    COLLECTOR NOTE:
    This horse head pin is estimated to be late 1930’s – early 1940’s. It is a collector's book  piece featured in many books devoted to bakelite jewelry. It is featured in Ann Mitchell's 'Inside Jewelry Box' guide to costume jewelry (Volume 3) . Identical horse is valued by Ms. Mitchell at 0-5.
