    Description

This is a 7th edition of a 1883 copyright hardcover book titled "Chapins' Lumber Reckoner published by N. Chapin & Sons, Chicago IL. Book measures 4" x 7" with 171 pages.
The following information is from the book: "The foregoing tables have been compiled with the greatest care by a gentleman in every way fully competent for the onerous task, and make the book the only complete one of the kind ever published, the others on the subject having been crude and incomplete, and covering only a very small portion of the ground. The tables are so simple and comprehensive that any person conversant with the lumber business can, in a very short time, compute what would otherwise take hours of severe and exhaustive labor. The figures range from 1x1 inch to 15x15 inches, inclusive of quarter inches, and cover any size of timber that is in use by the fraternity. An inspection and test of the tables will, very quickly, prove their inestimable value, and show beyond a doubt the wonderful aid they are to lumbermen."
No other copyright date to determine when the 7th edition was printed. But inside front cover in pen information of owner has date of 1946, so this edition was most likely the 1940s.
